t’s officially July and sunscreen now is non-negotiable. Sunscreen should be worn all year, but I won’t get into that. To keep things short and sweet I’m going to list 3 reasons that you should be wearing sunscreen.
- Preventing fine lines and unnecessary wrinkles
The number one cause of aging is the sun! Adding sunscreen to your routine will be anti-aging and will keep your skin looking youthful.
- Avoid sunburn and sun damage
Even though dark skin doesn’t burn and has built-in SPF (hello melanin), we all can get sunburn which will later put us at risk for sun damage.
- Uneven skin tone and future skin care progress
Exposure to the sun can cause hyperpigmentation to get darker if sunscreen isn’t used. When using products that contain AHA’s or BHA’s skin can become more sensitive to the sun and can cause dark spots to get darker.
With that being said, sunscreen is essential for all skin types and tones to use. There are so many options and ways that SPF can be added into your routine. Options can go from SPF in your moisturizer, primer, setting powder, or setting spray. So get SPF in your skin care routine immediately!
