If you don’t follow me on Instagram first thing is you should lol. I recently had the most fantastic experience attending the Indie Beauty Expo in New York City. The Indie Beauty Expo provides a platform to recognize and celebrate independent beauty brands. Not only does this expo celebrate independent beauty brands, but it supports the growth of the entrepreneurs behind each brand. I attended the two-day event, and I met some amazing entrepreneurs and heard the stories behind their brand and got to try some cool products. Here are just a few that I think should be on your radar.
Reimage beauty is a black-owned social conscious beauty brand. Their products enhance women’s natural beauty. All products are formulated without parabens, talc, or gluten. Reimage Beauty has everything from copper shadows, lipsticks, lip paints, and even brow pomade. I picked up a mineral smart shadow in the shade “sunkissed glow,” which I plan to use as highlight and shadow. Every purchase made on Reimage Beauty a portion goes toward programs for women’s health and self-esteem issues. Check out their website.
Achi Lashes is a woman-owned lash line that is handmade and cruelty-free. Amber Anderson, the founder, wanted to give women the chance to wear mink lashes and not kill their pockets. All of the lash styles run from $8 to $16 and are mink! Check out her website.
Ace Beaute is a black-owned cosmetics line that features lashes, brushes, and popping shadows. The shadows have amazing pigment and are super affordable. There will be a nude lipstick collection that will be released soon, that is gorgeous! Check out the website.
Clean women-owned K-Beauty Brand that is inspired by the color Beige. All of the products are formulated without synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, silicones, or sulfates. This line is so beautiful, and each product is infused with green coffee beans sourced from Peru. The green coffee bean is high in antioxidants and vitamin e to help repair and improve elasticity in the skin and protect from environmental aggressors. Check out their website.
Free & True
Free & True is a woman-owned California based skincare line that was created to simplify the skincare routine. The Free & True line has a specific routine for day and one particular for the night. All of the products are formulated in California using locally grown botanicals and clean ingredients. The packaging is stunning, and so are the products. I plan to add the Illuminating Honey Mask to my routine asap. Check out the website.
A black-owned men’s skincare/grooming line that features products for men to help them feel good after shaving/grooming that doesn’t have harmful chemicals and is affordable. I know this is for men, but their products smelled perfect, and women can use some of the products such as some of the skin and hair products. Check out the website they also have great kits!
A woman-owned lipstick line based here in NYC (pronounced Gorggg). I thought this line was so cute and fun with all of the lipsticks inspired by food and travel. I picked up the shade “Southern Fried Chicken” which is the perfect nude. Check out all of the other shades on the website.
Based out of Canada, Giovanna, the owner, and founder wanted to create brow products that were affordable, easy to match, and easy to use. The precision brow pencil is water-resistant and contains ingredients to condition brows and help with growth. Each pencil retails for $18.95. Check out to https://browluxe.ca see more shades.
I had the best time thank you so much Indie Beauty Expo for inviting me!
