Brown Beauty Chat: Hourglass Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation Review

Hourglass just released its newest foundation the Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation. Hourglass is one of my favorite luxury makeup lines, and I couldn’t wait to try their latest complexion product. All of their products are clean, vegan and contain skincare benefits.

The new Vanish Seamless Liquid Foundation is described as a highly concentrated formula that provides full coverage with minimal product. It is said to create a smooth and flawless complexion with light reflecting microspheres that blur the skin. The formula is non-comedogenic, waterproof, transfer proof and sweatproof. It also has a built-in primer, so no need to get their mineral veil primer to go along. The foundation comes in 32 shades featuring 7 shades on the med-dark shade range and retails for $56 at Sephora.

L to R: Walnut, Chestnut and Espresso
L to R: Warm Almond, Golden Almond, Almond, Sable

I tested the wear of the foundation for about a week wearing for it for my 8-10 hour work days. My first thought when applying the foundation was that it was super full coverage. Meaning a full pump can give you enough to cover your entire face. The foundation is pure pigment, so a little goes a long way.

The first day that I wore this foundation I skimped on my skincare routine and, it definitely showed when I applied the foundation. It began to cake on areas where I was dehydrated (Around the mouth). When I wore it for the second time, I made sure to do my full skincare routine (hydrating serum, moisturizer, and prismatic SPF). I applied less and really loved how the foundation wore. My skin is super oily, but I felt that I had a nice glow throughout the day.

Overall, I really like this foundation, and I think its really different from all of the other formulas that Hourglass currently has in its line. I would definitely like to see more shades in the med/dark shade range in the future. Less is definitely more with this foundation as it does give a lot of coverage. I would tell anyone that is going to give it a try to make sure that their skin is hydrated and properly prepped or it will cake on the skin. The Vanish Seamless Liquid wouldn’t be my everyday foundation, but I do like it when I want the coverage and want to do a full face beat.
