Brown Beauty Chat: Kaike Cosmetics Review

When I heard of Kaike Cosmetics pronounced (Cake), I was very intrigued. Kaike Cosmetics was started in 2015 by Keli Smith. It’s a fun vegan plant-based beauty and skincare brand that’s inspired by actual cake.

Keli, the creator of Kaike Cosmetics, wants us to celebrate healthy skin and enjoy products that we can have fun with while treating our skin with clean ingredients.

Kaike Cosmetics features face, hair and body products that are all inspired by dessert. Chocolate masks, sugar scrubs, marshmallow hair, and body butter, are some of the fun products from Kaike Cosmetics. I was able to try the Lip frosting and the Body Sugar Scrub.

The Lip Frosting described as a candelilla wax-based lip balm made with mango butter, coconut oil, and castor oil. It’s a super hydrating formula that is made to nourish and add sheen to the lips. I found the lip balm to be hydrating and super softening. Whereas most lip balms are super slippery Lip Frosting is the perfect balm to wear underneath a matte lip color.

The body sugar scrub gently exfoliates and nourishes the skin to restore hydration and softness. While the scrub did do an excellent job of exfoliating the body, I did find it to be a bit gritty. Its a great scrub for legs and arms and perfect for getting dead skin off the body.

I think Kaike Cosmetics is super cute and I love when skincare is made to be fun and super easy to use. I would definitely check out more of their products and recommend giving the lip frosting a try!
