I came across Range Beauty on Instagram when one of my favorite beauty bloggers @cocoaswatches swatched some shades of a new foundation. I was immediately intrigued as there aren’t many foundation companies that pride themselves on being cruelty-free, vegan and skincare beneficial.
Alicia Scott, the founder of Range Beauty, had past experience in the fashion industry and noticed the lack of diversity in the world of foundation when doing models makeup. Not only was she frustrated with lack of diversity, but she also wanted foundations that were free of toxins, good for the skin and her wallet. This was when Range Beauty was created.
I checked out their website, and there weren’t too many swatches to compare skin tones, so I was totally lost on what to order. With this being a challenge, I was super excited to see that the site offered to sample for $2 a shade which I thought was wonderful. I ordered foundation samples Sahara’s Rose and Cabana. I also ordered the True Intention Bronzing Primer.
The Bronzing primer is described as the ultimate primer that plumps fine lines giving skin a smooth, silky texture and a sheer bronzed glow. When putting it on the primer has a nice smoothness and almost feels like a hydrating lotion. It definitely gave my skin a nice glow and radiance.
Cabana was my actual shade match, and I was so excited to give this foundation a try. My work days are usually 8-10 hours, so it has to withstand NYC weather and my super oily skin. When putting on the foundation, the texture was very natural without feeling heavy. If you’re looking for a foundation with super full coverage, then you will definitely have to build it to get the coverage. It dries down to a soft matte finish (think Fenty Filtr Foundation) and looks very skin like.
Overall, the foundation wore very well and looked great on the skin. I loved that the primer had skincare benefits and was really nourishing on the skin. I’m always on the hunt for foundations that not only match my skin tone but actually enhance my skin.
I’m looking forward to the growth of Range Beauty, and I would definitely recommend!
I bought the sample sizes to try before buying full size and they didn’t even fill half of the container! If I dip my finger to see if it matches my skin there goes most of it and I won’t be able to even do a full face of makeup!
