Juvias Place has been around for about 4 years now and has grown tremendously as a brand. Started by Nigerian born women they inspired to create a brand based on vivid colors and cultural heritage. Mostly known for there eye shadow palettes, blushes, and pigmentation. When it was announced that they would be jumping into complexion products, I was really excited as were many other people.
They first announced the I Am Magic Foundation and Concealer.
The foundation comes in 42 shades and is an oil-free full coverage velvet matte finish. It is described as a formula made to even out the complexion, refine skin texture, erase blemishes while lasting all day on the skin.
I wore this foundation for the week so that I would be able to feel it out and judge how it wore during my 10-12 hour work days. When putting on this foundation, the coverage is flawless. It is smooth and gives fantastic coverage on blemishes and any discoloration. It’s definitely a full coverage foundation, but it doesn’t wear cakey on the skin. I have a very oily skin type, and the foundation did get a bit greasy during the middle of the day. I would say at about 6 hours of wearing the foundation I had to blot, which is usual for me.
The I Am Magic Concealer is described as a radiant concealer that smooths and cancels out dark circles, blemishes, and skin imperfections. The concealer is full coverage as well, and less is more, mainly when applied on the under eyes. It blends out nicely and gives a radiant finish, which is perfect when setting the eyes or any area on the skin.

The newest launch from Juvias Place is the I am Magic Setting powder that comes in 5 shades. It is described as a finely milled setting powder that blurs out imperfections, brightens the under eye and holds makeup in place. I purchased the shade Gobi to use to set the foundation. My favorite thing about this powder was how extremely fine milled it was. It was weightless on the skin and set my makeup without making me look ghostly. I do feel that the powder didn’t do the best job at controlling shine on my face throughout the day.

All in all, I was very impressed with the I am Magic concealer and foundation. For a foundation and concealer under the price of $20, the consistency and formula are excellent. If your oily like myself you will have to blot midday. With blotting the foundation stayed on the skin and didn’t separate or wear off. The powder I would pass on, especially if you have one that already does the job. I felt that it did an “ok” job setting the makeup and blurring out imperfections. The formula looks great! It looks moisturizing and not drying like some other foundations.
