My Dermalogica Favorites!

It’s officially the first day of Fall! The weather has somewhat transitioned, and an update to my skincare routine was much needed. I always recommend switching up your skincare routine every 4-6 months and evaluate what you really like and what’s working and what’s not. I still have something that I love in my routine, but even the things we love need a little shakeup sometimes. I’ve been recently suffering from hormonal breakouts and some texture issues. While my routine always has some type of AHA/ exfoliant in it, my skin needed some extra attention. About a month ago, I got a facial in Ulta with a Dermalogica licensed esthetician and received a sample of the new Age Bright Clearing serum. Once I tried it, I fell in love with it, and it has really helped with my hormonal breakouts.

I picked up the Target Acne and premature skin aging kit which contains the Age Bright Clearing Serum, Daily Microfoliant and Age Bright Spot Fader.

The Age Bright Clearing Serum

Ag Bright Clearing Serum

The Age Bright Clearing Serum is a two in one brightening serum that prevents breakouts while also helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It contains 2% salicylic acid to help clear breakouts along with hydrating oils and brightening complex to even and brighten the skin tone. I use this serum nightly 2-3 times a week, and it has really helped clear my skin along with giving me hydration. I love that this serum provides hydration and helps with breakouts and discoloration at the same time.

Daily Microfoliant

Daily Microfoliant

The daily microfoliant is such a great physical and chemical exfoliant that isn’t too harsh on the skin. It is recommended for everyday use after cleansing. I don’t recommend using any type of exfoliant daily as it can cause dryness and even more texture. I use it either once a week or twice a week, depending on the needs of my skin. It’s a rice-based powder that contains salicylic acid, papain, and rice enzymes. This product was my first introduction into the Dermalogica brand and is a staple in my skincare routine.

Age Bright Spot Fader

I’ve recently introduced this product into my skincare routine, and I can’t say it necessarily gets rid of dark spots. I love this product as a spot treatment for pesky blemishes and helping to calm down inflammation for cystic acne. It has a gel-like texture and doesn’t have a drying finish.

These are all of my Demalogica favorites if you suffer from hormonal acne or occasional breakouts. I would recommend starting with the targeted acne and premature skin aging kit. The kit retails for $40 in Ulta.
